Itty Bitty Artists

An invitation for your itty bitty artist to explore process art through painting, printmaking, drawing, and play! Each week we will enjoy story time, followed by individual art exploration using a variety of materials. We focus on the experience of making, not the final product. Four Week Focus
for Teens

Wednesdays 6:00p - 8:00p

Ages 13+

A unique invitation for teen and adult artists to delve deeper into specific mediums. Each four week session will focus on one medium and develop a body of work in that discipline. Students will be invited to present their work in our end-of-semester art show. Subject matter will be based on input from the student. Explore all things art! This class is perfect for young children who love to make art. We will use a variety of materials like collage, drawing, painting, pastels, markers, and more! Each week will be spent working on an individual project, with students leading the subject matter of their work. Mrs. Paynter offers techniques and encourages trying materials the students might be unfamiliar with. Dress for mess. All materials are provided. Any questions? You & Me Pottery

Saturdays 10:00a - 12:00p

Ages 7-13

A unique offering of our Intro to Clay course for a child ages 7 - 13 and their caregiver. Participants will learn about the behavior of clay, hand-building basics, wheel throwing basics, glazing and the firing process. This course includes three classes total, 2 hours each, Saturday mornings 10:00am - 12:00pm.

Fine art made FUN! Open to all levels of artists ages 9-12, this class focuses on foundational techniques used in 2-D & 3-D visual arts. We will rotate through sculpture, painting, drawing, wearables, pottery, and more. Learning about composition, color theory, texture, scale, construction, and everything in between. THANK YOU to Big Creek Clay for partnering with me to offer art classes to my community. Abbey Blake, myself, and fellow local artists offer a variety of classes for learning artists of all ages. View all of our offerings here.

My classes are available to all ages and abilities! Students are exposed to a wide variety of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art forms. Itty Bitty Artists focus primarily on a process approach to art, and explore sensory, color, temperature, texture and basic skill builders with painting, cutting, gluing and drawing. Art Explorers try it all! They work on projects that involve multiple layers of learning, from doodles, to drawing, collage, printing, painting, sculpting and so, so much more. Art FUNdamental students delve into the fine art application of techniques and mediums they may have been exposed to as Explorers. Where more structured technical terms might be applied, but the same freedom of expression exists for each artist.

Introduce your little ones to the world of art with our Itty Bitty Artists 6-week class! This engaging class meets on Thursday mornings from 10:00 - 10:45am, making it perfect for busy schedules. Kids will have the opportunity to get their hands messy while exploring various forms of process art, including paint, glue, marker, pastel, crayon, watercolor, and clay. Caregivers are required to stay with their child and should be prepared for some mess, so be sure to dress accordingly! Created for children ages 5 to 8, my Art Exploration and Homeschool Art classes give kids the chance to explore many different mediums. Each 6-week session introduces new concepts, elements of art and design, and opportunities to create with various 2-d and 3-d art forms. They will get messy, have fun, and make friends. I believe in fostering creativity and camaraderie in a professional yet playful environment. Give your child the gift of artistic exploration and watch their creativity soar.
