My classes are available to residents and non-residents around Chardon, OH. In these beginner-friendly classes you will become familiar with a variety of art materials, and gain confidence in your creative ability. We will focus on drawing, painting, watercolor and so much more! Classes are held in "The Gallery" room at 106 Water St. in Chardon, OH.

Itty Bitty Artists

Ages 2 - 4

Bring your itty bitty artist in to explore process art through painting, printmaking, drawing, and play! Each week we will enjoy storytime, followed by individual art exploration using a variety of materials. We focus on the experience of making, not the final product. Caregivers stay with their child during the class. Dress for mess. All materials provided.

Art Exploration

Ages 5 - 8

Explore all things art! This class is perfect for young children who love to make art. We will use a variety of materials like collage, drawing, painting, pastels, markers, and more! Each week will be spent working on an individual project, with students leading the subject matter of their work. Mrs. Paynter offers techniques and encourages trying materials the students might be unfamiliar with. Dress for mess. All materials are provided.

Art FUNdamentals

Ages 9 - 12

Fundamentals made FUN! Open to all levels of artists ages 9 and up, this class focuses on foundational techniques used in visual arts. We will rotate from painting to drawing, observational to process, and everything in between. All materials are provided and the students will lead with their ideas, and Mrs. Paynter’s guidance.
