Raina's Art Gallery

Here is a small selection of Raina's artwork. She started making art when she was 2 years old, and now at the age of 3, she is pushing herself to add even more color to the page before considering it finished. These artworks are entirely her own creations, with me simply providing the environment for her to work in.

If a child is working on a particular craft related to a concept or lesson, let them finish it according to their own skills. It's not necessary for everything to be identical! In my classes, we sometimes draw inspiration from seasons or holidays, such as using a Christmas tree stencil but applying paint in a unique way, or cutting paper into feathers for a turkey or flower. This approach is acceptable, enjoyable, and allows for individual creativity when managed appropriately.

In my opinion, it is important to acknowledge that there is a suitable moment and context in a child's early education for "crafts." I genuinely think that incorporating a craft activity into a lesson on topics like evaporation, animal life cycles, weather, countries, or any other subject can help children better engage with the material. However, it's crucial to be mindful not to classify these creations as "artwork." Art is a form of expression that is entirely individual to the creator's hands.
